Wroxham manager Jordan Southgate resigns after almost 350 games in charge

Jordan Southgate has resigned as Wroxham manager, the club has announced.

In a statement released by the club, Southgate said he had made the decision "after a lot of thought and consideration". He cited almost 350 games in the job and named matching the club's highest-ever league finish last season as a particularly proud moment.

He also acknowledged the club's results in cup competitions. "I take responsibility for our shortcomings in cup competitions," he said. "We haven't achieved what I would have wanted in those competitions, and I feel it is important to acknowledge that."

Southgate added that he felt it was the right time "to take a step back, enjoy a break from the game and, most importantly, spend some more time with my family".

Club chairman James Blower said he had worked with Southgate for almost four years. "While I do not want him to leave, and have tried to get him to reconsider, I do understand why it is right for him personally to do so," Blower said. "He leaves with my immense gratitude and respect."

Ryan Fuller and Daz Plowman-Read will take the team for the away match at Cambridge City on Saturday.
