Wolverhampton Casuals say ownership change is delayed while legal and FA regulations are worked through

Wolverhampton Casuals have said their ownership change is delayed while legal and FA regulations are worked through. In a statement on the club's account, the managing director, Steve Phillips, wrote that the club has "new ownership on it's way". The statement gave no names, terms or timescale.

Phillips described the harder fight as "the reality of the tough sell of non league". The season began with crowds of more than 200 in early September, but he said meeting running costs is difficult when the gate against Crewe FC last week was under 50. The visit of Allscott brought 77, and the club's mid-term aim is to reach 150 regularly. Phillips also noted that Wolves playing at home had been a factor in the last two weeks, and that the club still has no match sponsor this season. He pointed to more than 6,000 social media followers and invited local businesses to make contact at wolvescasuals@outlook.com.

On the pitch, Wolverhampton Casuals won 10, drew one and lost one of 12 matches across September and October. The defeat came in the FA Vase. A 4-0 win over Allscott on Saturday left them six points behind the league leaders with three games in hand, according to Phillips. They have won five consecutive league games and 15 of 19 overall.
