Wessex League clubs learn their fate as FA Vase draws land

FA Vase ties led this week's Wessex League action. Fleetlands beat East Cowes Victoria Athletic 2-1, Robinson and Kingswell scoring, to book a First Round Proper trip to face Mangotsfield United at Cossham Street on 10 October. Cowes Sports won 1-0 at home to Christchurch, a result that sent Christchurch out of the competition and earned Cowes Sports a home draw against Middlezoy Rovers on the same date. Brockenhurst have been drawn away to New Milton Town in the First Round Proper, while Sturminster Newton United face a long trip to Newquay AFC, for which the club have organised a supporters' coach at £25 a head departing at 9.30am. Andover New Street progressed too, going back in the hat before being paired with Sherborne Town at the Nuova Italia Arena, and Hamworthy Recreation have arranged their own coach to Buckland Athletic in Newton Abbot for the same weekend.
