Sutton United edge Brocton as Abbey Hulton stun the leaders

Sutton United needed until the hour to shake off Brocton at Coleshill Road Stadium, eventually winning 2-1 despite goals shared and a string of near misses at both ends. Reg Smith had put Brocton ahead in the first half before Jayden Hunter equalised for Sutton United, only for Aidan Mee to bundle home the winner following a mix-up in the Brocton defence. Both sides hit the woodwork before the finish, with Reg Smith denied a late equaliser by a fine save from Greg Lewis. Brocton's manager reflected on the defeat in his post-match notes before the club turned around quickly for a midweek trip to Stone Old Alleynians.

Elsewhere in the Premier Division, Abbey Hulton United produced one of the results of the week, coming from behind twice to beat leaders Winsford United 3-2 at Barton Stadium. The win followed a Staffordshire Senior Cup exit to Stone Old Alleynians, in which Kyle Diskin was named Abbey's Man of the Match for a display that produced a "stupendous strike in the bottom corner", according to the club, and preceded a rare Wednesday night trip to Darlaston Town, a fixture billed by the hosts as the first ever meeting between the two clubs.

Cheadle Town picked up a 3-0 win at Tividale, goals from Tom Jones, Ethan Padden and Ibrahima Diop settling the contest after half-time. The club also progressed in the FA Youth Cup on penalties against Macclesfield, before being drawn at home to Morecambe in the next round, and added Joe Hillary, Cody Artwell and Thomas Jones to their squad in a run of signings.

Dudley Town drew 2-2 with Romulus as Eli Enyan scored twice, striking early in the second half before Jamal Adams equalised on his debut for the visitors. Manager Nathan Lamey's side then prepared for a Black Country derby against Tividale. Romulus also completed the signings of Jamal Adams and Josh Beeson ahead of the draw.

In the Cheshire corner of the division, Northwich Victoria thrashed Stone Old Alleynians 6-0, Elliot Rokka's hat-trick supplemented by goals from Sean Higgins, Ryan Atkinson and Matty Birchall. Runcorn Town won 3-2 away at A F C Wolverhampton City thanks to goals from Liam Kennington, Jamie Apperley and Alfie Jones-Mellor, while Lye Town beat the same opponents 3-0 before losing 2-1 at home to West Didsbury & Chorlton, whose manager Lee Rick called it "probably the most complete performance we've had." Whitchurch Alport drew 1-1 with newly-promoted Stockport Georgians having earlier come from behind to beat Uttoxeter Town 3-1, with a brace from Ollie Holden. Uttoxeter Town parted company with manager Jacob Sturgess and assistant Ryan Warren during the week.
