Stamford have increased their first-team playing budget, the board said in its November update, while acknowledging that results have not been "where anyone wants or expects them to be".
Describing the rise as modest, the board noted it will allow the manager to bring in several experienced players following a summer of difficult decisions to secure financial stability after three consecutive loss-making seasons. The departure of the previous manager alongside a significant number of players had created an enormous challenge for the new management team. A couple of injuries have also meant turning to the reserve team for additional support.
The uplift has been credited partly to the commercial team, with sponsorship revenue tracking more than 30% above last year and further investment set to be backed by genuine income growth.
On Stamford North, the board said discussions on the agreement "continue to progress extremely well" and that it hopes to share positive news as soon as it can. It called the project a potentially significant opportunity that could help fund investment in the first teams.
The update also reported that the men's reserve team, promoted in back-to-back seasons into the Peterborough Premier Division, sit fifth with 17 points from their first nine games. The club's Christmas draw follows the home game with Alvechurch on 12 December.
