Slough Town have appointed Pat Hayes as a Non-Executive Director, with the club saying he brings many years of development and planning experience and in-depth knowledge of the local borough and its council.
Hayes will play an advisory role, supporting the club's ambitions to develop the Tamblyn Fields Community Sports Hub and to continue improving and upgrading facilities at Arbour Park. He has spent the past four years at Slough Borough Council, most recently as Executive Director – Regeneration, Environment and Planning. Earlier roles included Managing Director of Be First, the regeneration arm of Barking and Dagenham Council, senior regeneration and housing roles at Ealing Council, and Director of Borough Partnerships at Transport for London.
CEO Ashley Smith said: "We are delighted Pat has joined us. He has a wealth of knowledge of the local community and exceptional experience with the local authority." Hayes said he looked forward to working with Smith and the A23 Group "to build long-term financial and sporting sustainability for the Club".
The club has also invited supporters to a fans forum at Arbour Park at 7pm on Thursday 19 November. New chairman Talal Al Ajmi, founder and CEO of Development Holding Company, will attend with Smith and directors Simon Doyle and Tristan Heywood. The forum will cover the club's partnership with DH and the investment, and supporters can submit questions in advance.
Separately, Slough Town confirmed that Godlove Oppong has joined Southern League Premier South side Berkhamsted on a 28-day loan.
