Shaftesbury captain Charlie Rayfield injury worse than first feared as Exmouth Town mark Callum Shipton's 300th appearance

Shaftesbury captain Charlie Rayfield has an injury that is worse than first thought, according to the club's match review. Rayfield collided with an opponent's knee during the defeat at Bristol Manor Farm and was bandaged up on the spot. Sonny Pike returned from injury as his substitute.

The review described a difficult weekend at Cockrams. The Rockies lost at home to Westbury United, in appalling weather and without manager Jim Milligan. Andy Struthers took charge of team matters. The review adds that Rayfield returned to the club from Bemerton Heath Harlequins in July 2025 and was a consistent performer last season.

More encouragingly for the Rockies, goalkeeper Alex Rutter and Tom Jarvis are on their way back Goalkeeper Alex Rutter and Tom Jarvis are on their way back, with Jarvis now out of his support boot after an injury sustained in the win at Larkhall Athletic in late September. Brandon Mundy, however, was stretchered off after a fall against Chippenham Town.

Exmouth Town congratulated Callum Shipton on reaching 300 appearances for the club.
