Sennett's four-goal burst sinks Skegness as Blackstones roar back

Few results in the United Counties League this week carried more sting than Blackstones' 5-2 victory over Skegness Town. For 40 minutes the Lilywhites were in total control, Theo Kitt-Bushell and Declan Johnson putting them 2-0 up at the MKM Stadium return fixture played at Lincoln Road, before Finn Rawlings pulled one back right on half-time. Josh Sennett then took over, scoring four times after the break, including a penalty, to complete the turnaround and claim Man of the Match. It capped a chastening few days for Skegness Town, who had looked sharp in beating West Bridgford Colts 4-1 in the UCL Cup only days earlier, Kyle Radford among the scorers.

Hucknall Town also surrendered a lead, going ahead against Clay Cross Town through Joel Stevens before what manager Rudy described bluntly as "silly mistakes" allowed the visitors to score twice from close range to win 2-1. "It's just not good enough for this football club," he said, with David Kolodynski's debut one of the few bright spots on an otherwise frustrating afternoon.

Heanor Town went the other way, coming from behind twice at Hinckley AFC to win 3-2 through John King, Markelic and a Jamie Sleigh volley, extending their unbeaten run to eight games and moving them up to fourth. Hinckley AFC also saw change in goal, with Divin Emmanuel returning from Coventry Sphinx as Ollie Bosworth stepped away from playing, manager Chris Tullin calling the goalkeeper's comeback "another indication of how exciting the project we are building at Hinckley is."

At Knowle, there was a happier kind of landmark: Odane Barnes made his 100th appearance for the club, a player who scored a dramatic 98th-minute equaliser against Gornal Athletic last season that helped seal promotion. "I feel honoured and grateful to be part of the history of Knowle," he said.
