Eight games unbeaten in all competitions is the kind of record clubs build seasons around, and Rossington Main very nearly turned it into nine with victory over Handsworth at Oxford Street. Instead they were left to reflect on two points lost rather than gained, Reece Fielding and Ross Hannah having put the hosts two goals to the good with twelve minutes to go before a reduced Handsworth side, down to ten men since the 23rd minute for Cam Hough's professional foul on Myron Gibbons, hauled themselves level. James Simmonite headed in after Owen Haigh looped the ball over two defenders before Jonathan Williams, found by Luke Mangham, curled a first-time effort from more than twenty yards into the top corner two minutes into added time. It was, by Handsworth's own description, the most dramatic of endings, and it meant Rosso had to settle for a sixth draw of the season rather than a first win in five.
Elsewhere in the division, Handsworth's week had already been complicated by a League Cup exit, beaten 3-1 at Horbury, before the Rossington draw extended their own unbeaten league run to five. Tadcaster Albion struck late when Curtis Senior's 93rd-minute free-kick salvaged a 3-3 draw with Knaresborough Town after the Brewers had trailed three times, though they went on to lose 2-0 at Horbury in midweek.
