Maidenhead Town got their first taste of the FA Vase this week. Having gone out of the BBFA Senior Cup in midweek, beaten 3-2 away at Amersham Town despite fighting back from behind, the club turned its attention to a competition it had never entered before. A 32-page souvenir digital programme marked the occasion of the trip to Northwood, and the club described it as 'another exciting first for MTFC'. The match itself did not go Maidenhead's way, Northwood winning through, and the club posted afterwards that it was 'not our day on the pitch but the ambition was to be here', adding it would look to have 'many more days at this level'.
Holmer Green drew 3-3 with Langley, Daisuke Mitani among the scorers, before Holmer Green won 4-3 in the shootout. It capped a busy period for the club off the pitch too, with a junior tournament staged over the weekend backed by a string of sponsors including AG Glass, Sport Scene and Holmer Green Garage, and support from Biffa in supplying bins for the event. Holmer Green's first team were also due to face Staines & Lammas at Watchet Lane.
Langley had earlier been beaten 5-1 by Brook House, who described the win as a 'great result', before the draw with Holmer Green.
Colliers Wood United beat Holmer Green 2-1 at home, while Berks County won 3-2 before losing 6-1 in their next match. Woodley United were beaten 4-1 at home by Wembley, who used the week to unveil an 80th-anniversary away kit marking 1946 to 2026, produced with VX3apparel. Molesey lost 2-1 at Bovingdon.
Off the pitch, Westside announced they had parted ways with head coach Leo Grant after three years at the club, thanking him for his work with both the youth structure and the men's first team and wishing him well in his coaching career. On the pitch Westside drew 2-2 with London Samurai Rovers having earlier lost 1-0 at Belstone. PFC Victoria confirmed that proceeds from their midweek home game against Molesey would go towards supporting a supporter recovering from a serious injury. Spelthorne Sports Club welcomed JH Specialist Roofing as a new matchday sponsor, while FC Deportivo Galicia suffered a 3-2 loss to Maidenhead Town and now turn to the FA Vase themselves against Easington.
