Lewes used the day of their women's team's Women's FA Cup first-round tie to call for a fairer distribution of FA Cup prize money. In a statement, the club said that if Lewes FC Women win the match they will receive £40,750 less in prize money than if Lewes FC Men won the equivalent tie in the Men's FA Cup.
The club asked supporters to join its call for prize money to be distributed more fairly across the football pyramid, using the hashtag EqualFACup.
