Liskeard Athletic delivered the Western League's headline result of the week with a 2-1 victory over table-topping Bridgwater United at Lux Park. Harry Probyn scored twice and was named man of the match; the club called it "massive 3 points against the league leaders". Bridgwater United said Jason Quick scored their goal, correcting an earlier post, and reported that more than 900 had been at Fairfax Park for their previous home game, a win over Clevedon Town. The same tweets show Bridgwater United had a coach full for the trip to Cornwall.
The Les Phillips Cup filled the midweek, and not all of it was played. Newquay announced that their tie against Torpoint Athletic was off because of a lack of hot water at the ground, with a new date to be confirmed. Torpoint Athletic had earlier cited boiler issues. Brislington's trip to Wincanton Town was also called off after the referee judged the pitch unsafe, with holes and trenches visible. Brislington said the news reached their travelling players and supporters too late, that they understood the referee had not been alerted to the need for an inspection beforehand, and that they would seek clarification.
Where games were played, Bovey Tracey won 3-2 at Tavistock Association to go through, a few days after beating Brislington 5-1 at home. Portishead Town also advanced, with a clean sheet for goalkeeper Logan McKenzie, his third in three first-team games. Shepton Mallet went through 1-0, and Oldland Abbotonians followed a 6-3 win at Wincanton Town by beating Avonmouth 3-0, with goals from Will Fowler, Trey Cadette and Jai Macleod. St Blazey were due to host Liskeard Athletic in the same competition.
Movement came too. Charlie Johansen left Brixham for Buckland Athletic, which Brixham said followed a financial offer he could not turn down. Buckland Athletic also confirmed the return of a player from Brixham with 174 appearances and 46 goals. Tavistock Association signed Thomas Hensman, Owen Raven and Max Edgecombe, and Portishead Town added Sam Watkins and Laurent Davis-Wilson.
