Cadbury Heath and Nailsea United both progressed convincingly in the Les Phillips Cup first round. The Heath won 2-0 at Almondsbury on Tuesday 29 September, and sent best wishes to the Almondsbury goalkeeper, who picked up a bad injury. Nailsea United beat Mendip Broadwalk 5-1 in front of 203 spectators. Kelson Pollard took the man of the match award for two goals the club called very high quality, and Dylan Williams added another.
Brislington also advanced with a 4-1 win over Bristol Telephones, who fielded a much-changed side as the hosts proved ruthless in the first half. Tommy Sayers made his first start. Avonmouth secured their own victory over Bitton that night ahead of Saturday's fixture.
Off the pitch, Bitton reported 452 through the gates for their Family Fun Day on 26 September, which they said was their biggest attendance in over 10 years. Almondsbury drew 175 for Former Players Day and won 4-2, Nicholls scoring twice. Odd Down won 3-0 at Wincanton Town, captain Ryan Gay scoring twice and Lewis Hunt once. The club also welcomed Dom Walter back to the squad after ACL, MCL and meniscus injuries sustained at the start of last season.
At Shirehampton, the 75th anniversary shirt made its debut at Penpole Lane, and Ryan Radford scored twice. Radstock Town drew with Oldland, and Keynsham Town won away at Nailsea United in what they called an overdue away win. Warminster Town recorded a third consecutive home win.
The Heath travel to Almondsbury on Saturday 10 October.
