Horsham have said there has been interest in investing in Horsham Community Football Club Limited, with the Board hoping to open a route for supporters and local stakeholders to take a stake. In its update on Friday 30 October, the Board said any ability to offer shares "remains subject to approval by our parent, Horsham Football Club CIC", including the passing of the necessary resolution. The directors hope the CIC can consider and progress the matter "at the earliest appropriate opportunity" and are "keen to encourage local expression of investment in the first instance". The club continues to welcome expressions of interest.
The Board framed the update against the Independent Football Regulator's draft State of the Game report, which found that 66% of clubs across the top five English leagues could not survive more than 90 days without additional owner funding. Horsham said the club has never relied on a wealthy individual underwriting losses, and is structured so that its stadium and facilities are protected for the long term. It described itself as one of the minority of part-time clubs in National League South, with one of the more restricted playing budgets in the league.
On the pitch, the Board noted eight points from a possible 12 over the last four games, and said contributions to its 12th Player initiative have helped strengthen the first-team squad. It has also set up feedback@horshamfc.co.uk for supporters' matchday and club-related comments.
