Havant & Waterlooville confirm Laidlaw ligament injury as Needham Market give debuts to Academy pair Wright and Tennia

Havant & Waterlooville have confirmed that Harvey Laidlaw has suffered a significant tear to the ATFL ligament in his ankle. The injury came in the club's FA Trophy tie against Taunton Town on Saturday 26 September 2026, when he was stretchered from the field.

After tests and scans, the club said the injury "will see him out of action for an extended period with the aim of returning to the pitch early in the New Year". The club added that it was wishing him a speedy recovery.

At Needham Market, Academy players Tyler Wright and Josh Tennial made their first-team debuts in the 2-0 FA Trophy first-round defeat by Wingate and Finchley. Wright started and played the full 90 minutes, while Tennial came on as a substitute in the 63rd minute. Manager Tom Rothery said Wright's debut was "a good debut for him" and that Tennial "did really well when he came on". Rothery also said his side were missing several players through injury and suspension.

Worcester City named Josh Taroni their Player of the Month for September, as chosen by supporters.
