The week in the Combined Counties League turned on one afternoon at the Easy As HGV Stadium. Fleet Town had billed Saturday's visit of Knaphill as a top-of-the-table game, with one point separating the sides and Fleet holding a game in hand. They won 4-1 in front of 588, which the club said was its biggest crowd of the season.
The match turned on set pieces. MacAllister converted a penalty on 23 minutes, and Knaphill levelled two minutes later when Wensley headed in Sweeney's free-kick. Fleet's George Wallace then curled in a free-kick on 79 minutes and volleyed a second from MacAllister's pass on 83. Parry finished a counter-attack in stoppage time. Fleet Town named Wallace their Man of the Match. Knaphill called it a great day for Step 5 football and said they expect Fleet back at Redding Way in December.
A week earlier Knaphill had closed to within a point of the leaders by beating Metropolitan Police 1-0, Cheek tapping in on 76 minutes after a goalkeeping error. The Met answered on Saturday with a 2-0 home win over Sheerwater, Samuels and Degand scoring. It was only their second clean sheet of the season, according to the club, and the day doubled as a showcase for Momentum Children's Charity, their community charity partner for the fixture.

The Premier Challenge Cup first round supplied most of the rest. Ardley United beat Epsom & Ewell 2-2 on penalties, 6-5 after sudden death, with Frankie Lynn and Djazton Mandica scoring for the visitors. Epsom's manager Max Johnston praised captain Toby Young, who he said led the side superbly with a bare-bones squad. Tooting & Mitcham United lost 9-8 on penalties at Virginia Water after a 1-1 draw. Corinthian-Casuals beat Wallingford & Crowmarsh 3-0 and now host Sutton Common Rovers on 21 November, while Alton won 1-0 at Broadfields United and Balham won 2-0 at Chipstead.
In the league, Holyport beat Hilltop 4-1, Manuel Kingsley scoring a hat-trick, and Burnham and Wokingham Town drew 3-3.
Off the pitch, Fleet Town announced a daytime Education & Football Academy for 16 to 18-year-olds, with a first intake in September 2027 and open evenings on 22 October and 3 November.
