Fifty years of service honoured as September awards announced

September's awards arrived in a cluster this week, and the most striking thing about them was how far beyond the pitch they reached. At Hoddesdon Town, fixture secretary Doug Wildey received an award from the Football Association recognising 50 years of service to football. At AFC Knowsley, child welfare officer Adele Moorhouse was given a special recognition award at the Liverpool CFA Grassroots awards for her commitment to safeguarding. Shirehampton chairman Pete McCall, meanwhile, was presented with the Harry Bamford Trophy at Bristol Rovers.

Recognition of a different kind came at Dulwich Hamlet, where Junior James, Preston Edwards, Lincoln Williams and Michael Chambers were added to the club's Black History Month Wall of Fame.

Among the managers, Marcel Nimani of Sevenoaks Town was named Isthmian League Vita Risk Solutions Manager of the Month for September, while Aaron Downes won Manager of the Month at Hereford. Callum and the management team at Lordswood also collected the September Manager of the Month award.

The player of the month lists made for a long roll call. Ollie Tomlinson took the honour at Bath City, sponsored by Flan O'Brien's, and Ollie Harrison won it at Bromsgrove Sporting. Adam Moseley was Southport's choice, Kalvin Morris was voted the award at Darwen, and Charlie Booker collected the NCEL Player of the Month from league general manager Matt Jones at Handsworth. Supporters chose Josh Bissett at Tiverton Town, Toby Down at Plymouth Parkway via the supporters club, Josh Murtagh at Stourport Swifts and Donell Thomas at Folkestone Invicta. Add Matt Kerbey at Havant & Waterlooville, Chris Castle at Abingdon United, Jordan Duffey at Saltash United, Charlie Weeks at Winterton Rangers, Ben Stevens at Real Bedford, Ben Rydel at Atherton Collieries, Andrea Carrera at Sporting Club Thamesmead, Montel Williams at Lewisham Borough Community, El at Hutton and Josh at Cleethorpes Town. Kevin Rivera made it two in a row at Three Bridges, having also won in August.

Goals were honoured too: George Nikaj's strike against Chelmsford City won September's Crep Protect Goal of the Month at Dorking Wanderers, Brad Stevenson's effort away at Egham in the FA Cup took the award at Chatham Town, and Alejandro Machado's goal against Dover was voted Folkestone Invicta's Invicta TV Goal of the Month.

Collective honours went to Bromsgrove Sporting, named Southern League Premier Central Team of the Month, to Potton United, who received the SSMFL's September award, and to the Heanor Town under-23s, winners of the Central Midlands Division 1 Central team of the month. Charlie Williams and Kian Ryley were named in the National League North Team of the Week for AFC Telford United, with Ebbsfleet United represented in the National League South equivalent. Ollie Bate earned a place in Kent Online's Team of the Week after scoring Ashford United's second in a 4-1 win, and Nathan Jeche joined him there following a hat-trick in Sevenoaks Town's 3-2 defeat of Broadbridge Heath. Sean Tomlinson and Kylano Isaac of FCV Grace Dieu were named in the CONCACAF Nations League C Best XI.
