Western League sides experienced mixed fortunes in the FA Vase second qualifying round. Bridgwater United came from a goal down to progress, the club confirming the turnaround in a post-match message: "We turn it around from a goal down to progress in the F.A Vase!" Saltash United travelled to Fairfax Park for the tie and, after the result went against them, posted graciously: "Congratulations to Bridgwater. Good luck in the next round."

Street enjoyed one of the more emphatic afternoons, beating Ilminster Town 6-1 at The Tannery in a match previewed in the clubs' official matchday programme. Portishead Town also progressed, winning 5-1 away at Malmesbury Victoria, a result the club followed up with match highlights and a report from Matt Gillett. Shepton Mallet were also in Vase action, hosting Nailsea United at The Playing Fields having posted an attendance of 168 for the fixture, with Harry Charlesworth named man of the match after three penalty saves in a shootout.

Newquay beat Cullompton Rangers 6-1 at Mount Wise, with Louis Price, Callam McOnie, Tim Nixon and Alex Cole among the scorers, while the club also used the weekend to open the first stage of its refurbished clubhouse, describing "48 hours, an army of volunteers, and a bar that's ready for a crowd." St Blazey beat Millbrook 3-0 at Blaise Park thanks to two goals from Kai Burrell and a late strike from Harry Blows.

Not every home side came through. Brixham won 4-0 against Wendron United in the competition, while Sidmouth Town exited 3-1 away to Elburton Villa, with Ryan White on target. Torpoint Athletic also went out, beaten 2-0 by Honiton Town in front of their own supporters, Sam Morgan taking the home side's man of the match award in defeat.

Elsewhere in the league programme, Liskeard Athletic won 3-0 away at Wellington to record a third successive clean sheet, goals coming from Kai Gilbert, George Newton and James Lorenz. Off the pitch, Brislington announced the launch of a senior Women's Team in partnership with Brislington Juniors, chairman Jack Rogers calling it "an important step towards" the club's ambition to provide opportunities across the community.
