Bishop Auckland kept up the pursuit on Saturday, beating Whitley Bay 3-1 before 474 supporters with goals from Liam Noble, Craig Moody and Gary Martin. The visitors' goal came from Noah Millington, signed on dual registration from Blyth Spartans. Whitley assistant Gary Somerville said of the winners: "You can tell they've come from a league above. You can tell they're spending good money." Bishop Auckland had beaten Crook Town 4-2 the previous Tuesday.
Yarm & Eaglescliffe also enjoyed a productive week, ending Whitley Bay's eight-match unbeaten league run with a 4-2 away win on Tuesday as centre-back Daniel Jones scored a hat-trick of headers from corners. On Saturday they beat Thornaby 1-0 in what the clubs billed as the River Tees Derby. Assistant manager Barry Rizza admitted of the Whitley defeat: "You take them three headers out of the game and we've won the match."

Marske United endured a torrid week, beginning with a 2-0 midweek defeat to ten-man Penrith that manager Paul Burton branded the worst performance he had seen since the club returned to the Northern League. Tai Bell was sent off for Penrith and Lewis Boyd saved Leo Robinson's penalty, before Marske lost 3-2 at Newcastle Blue Star on Saturday. That was a first win under interim management for Blue Star, who had lost 2-1 to Horden Community Welfare on Tuesday.
Northallerton Town followed a 4-1 home win over Whickham, in which Lewis Martin hit a hat-trick, with a 3-0 defeat at Crook Town. Their report noted just four points from 11 away league matches.
