Darlington confirmed a series of injury problems in the build-up to their Tuesday night trip to Morecambe. Max Howells has had a setback in training and will be out for another six weeks. Dylan Wilkinson is sidelined with a metatarsal break sustained in training, though his rehabilitation is progressing well, while Brad Walker is working his way back to fitness following damaged ribs.
Scott Barrow remains out with a heart condition. According to the club, he is receiving positive signs and will be helping out while the search for a permanent manager takes place.
The club's preview put them 22nd in the table after 13 games, with 11 points from three wins, two draws and eight defeats. They came into the Morecambe game on the back of a 3-0 home win over Spennymoor Town, in which Dylan Stephenson scored a hat-trick.
Spennymoor have meanwhile agreed sponsorship from Durham County Council through the 'Foster with North East' grant. The club said the grant helps local authorities set up sponsorship packages with grassroots sports organisations to promote fostering services. The branding will be advertised on matchdays and through the Moors in the Community programme.
At Macclesfield, Emerging Talent forward Barney Wiggin, on loan at Colne, was named North West Counties First Division North Player of the Month for September. The forward scored nine goals in eight appearances during the month.
