Cup replays and managerial change shape a week in the Northern Premier League
The week in the Northern Premier League Premier Division was shaped by the FA Cup. Bury drew 1-1 at home to National League side Harrogate Town in the Fourth Qualifying Round and will travel for a replay on Tuesday, with a place in the First Round Proper at stake. Guiseley went one better, winning 3-0 at Leiston through Elliot Owen, Jordan Thewlis and Jack Emmett, all in a nine-minute first-half spell. Both clubs' league games were postponed, and Cleethorpes Town said the league made its decision on the Guiseley fixture without prior consultation with them, despite the club formally raising concerns.

Managerial moves also shaped the week. Avro named Lewis Hardcastle to succeed interim manager Alex Frost, with Jack Hindle as his assistant. Chairman Rob Fuller said Hardcastle had been identified early as a potential next manager. His first game brought a 2-0 defeat at Ilkeston Town, who were also under a new manager, Ryan Hindley, and were seeking his first win. Anthony Dwyer scored the first, Luke Cox, newly arrived from Quorn, the second, and Avro's Ryley Smith was sent off in the 53rd minute. Ilkeston had lost 5-0 at home to Redcar Athletic the previous weekend, while Brad Fewster's hat-trick against Avro extended Redcar's good home form and, after a 2-1 win at Ashton United, they stayed top.
Whitby Town also turned to Graeme Lee, who started with a goalless draw against Bamber Bridge — where Stuart Rose missed a penalty — before securing a 2-1 victory at Workington courtesy of Rose and Marley Grant. Whitby then beat Curzon Ashton 1-0 at home.

At the other end of the table, Emley ended a run of nine league games without a win by beating Stockton Town 3-1 on Saturday. Aaron Haswell, Joe Stacey and Rinor Ejupi scored in the first half. Manager Richard Tracey had said earlier in the week that results had not reflected performances. Emley also announced a partnership that makes the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground the first-team home of Huddersfield Town Women.
Gainsborough Trinity climbed to fourth after defeating Ilkeston Town 3-1 and Hyde United 4-0, sealing a fourth consecutive league victory. Hyde manager Michael Clegg called the performance "just not good enough". Alfreton Town and Warrington Town drew 1-1.
