Burscough have announced the launch of their first Academy Scholar Programme, which begins in September 2027/28. The club said places are limited and the programme is open to players currently in Year 11 or Year 12.
Following an "incredibly successful" September 2026 intake, Burscough reported "fantastic interest", strong trialist turnout, and applications still coming in as the academy expands.
Jayden Smith, Connor Eyre and Alfie Brassington have already stepped up to first-team terms this season. Off the pitch, a partnership with NXT4 PRO supplies dedicated tech for players and coaches, drawing "incredible" feedback alongside early dividends in personalised training, performance analysis and development tracking.
The new Scholar Programme is designed to expand the existing setup and create further pathways for young players. Those interested can apply by direct message or through the club's website.
