Brigg Town FC CIC spent the week talking about one fixture. The club described the FA Vase as holding a special place in its history, noting two wins in the competition, the most recent in 2003 at Upton Park, and announced that Selby Town would visit the EC Surfacing Stadium in the first round proper. Volunteers from The Forge Project planned to sleep at the ground the night before, to raise awareness of homelessness, and to be present at the tie with donation buckets. The build-up came after a 5-0 league win, in which Reece York and Josh Batty each scored twice and Dayle Southwell got the other. The club regarded it as their most convincing display of the season. A defeat at Barton followed in midweek.
Selby Town arrived with a mixed week behind them. Winterton Rangers won 2-1 at the Fairfax Plant Hire Stadium, their second win in a row. The next Tuesday Wakefield beat them 1-0 in the first round of the West Riding Senior County Cup, Kenzie Dillon scoring. Selby's own account of the week highlighted Dan Davison's performance in goal after Wilton was dismissed for two yellow cards the club considered questionable.
Armthorpe Welfare reported a week in which every team won. The first team beat Ilkley 2-1 on Wednesday and then Hemsworth 3-2 on Saturday, with goals from Baz Lowe, Joel Learmouth and Harry Charlotte. The 21s won 6-1, the reserves won 3-1 away and the over-35s scored seven against Wombwell. Hemsworth Miners Welfare called it another frustrating afternoon, with a consolation from a corner arriving too late. Armthorpe also signed Liam Flanagan from Frickley for the rest of the season, and next host Crowle Colts seeking a third straight win.
Wombwell Town beat Club Thorne Colliery 2-1 on Saturday through Nash Connolly and Josh Brown, then lost 2-1 at Field Olympic with nine men in a game billed as second against third. They signed goalkeeper Owen Evans from Worsbrough and defender Aidan Fry, subject to league approval. Harrogate Railway Athletic had beaten Field Olympic 2-1 earlier, and travelled to Wakefield on Friday for a fixture supporting Andys Man Club. At Goole, debutant Joel Ward was man of the match in a 3-2 defeat at Kinsley Boys.
