The most striking result of the week in the Northern Counties East League's Division One came from Brigg Town FC CIC, and it was a goalless draw. The club said they were down to ten men for more than an hour and to nine for the closing stages, yet still kept a clean sheet. "A point that feels like a massive effort from the Zebras," they wrote, adding that they were unlucky not to win it. The club also noted on the eve of the Lincolnshire derby against Winterton Rangers that they are the only side in the division to have scored in every league game this season, a record the nine-man stand-off will test. Winterton, according to Brigg, had taken seven points from a possible twelve in September, and had drawn 2-2 with Ilkley Town in their previous home game. Manager Robbie Start said of that match: "Their five subs have come on and changed the game."
At Armthorpe Welfare, the club described a week in which the first team, under-21s, reserves and over-35s all won. They also signed goalkeeper Jaden Taylor on an initial one-month loan from Lincoln City. Wakefield AFC's previews of their Saturday visit describe Armthorpe as seventh with two games in hand on the sides above them.
Athersley Recreation saw their midweek match abandoned because of floodlight failure. The club said the trip to South Leeds will be rearranged for later in the season.
Across the rest of the division, Harrogate Railway Athletic beat Crowle Colts 3-1, with goals from Alex Burton, Harry Bandeira and Sam Clothier, and then travelled to Appleby Frodingham. Selby Town won 3-1 at South Leeds through two goals from Bauer and one from Clapham, and later beat Hemsworth Miners Welfare 1-0 in the league cup second round. Club Thorne Colliery drew 0-0, then 2-2 at Route One Rovers, for whom Buba Conteh scored both goals. Route One had earlier lost 4-1 at LIV. Wakefield lost 1-0 at Field Olympic.
Off the pitch, Immingham Town thanked supporters for observing a minute's silence for the late Shaun Pickett, and the club published a write-up in his honour. Wombwell Town marked Jay Paling's 150th appearance, and Goole signed midfielder Jaydan Sandhu, who returns after spells with Leeds UFCA, Wakefield AFC and Albion Sports.
