The Polegrove hosted something rather more meaningful than three points on Sunday, as Bexhill United staged a testimonial match for Kyle Holden, marking ten years at the club, with all proceeds going to Cardiac Risk in the Young. Lighty's Legends XI featured a returning cast of familiar faces, including Drew Greenall, who called Holden "a top player" and said it would be "a pleasure to be back at the Polegrove sharing a pitch with him", and captain Craig McFarlane, who described Holden as "a natural leader on the pitch and a great lad off of it". Goalkeeping duties for the legends were shared by Dan Rose and Alex Hobden, with the day rounded off by a barbecue, an auction, and a family fun day. The club later thanked everyone involved for their support across the day.
Earlier in the week, Bexhill had picked up a 5-1 win at Crawley Down Gatwick, led by a man-of-the-match display from Jack Shonk, who scored once and set up two.
Elsewhere in the Premier Division, East Grinstead Town continued an impressive run, following a 2-0 win away to league leaders Eastbourne United with a home fixture against Little Common, who themselves went down 2-1 having drawn a blank earlier in the week against Horsham. Hassocks bounced back from a midweek cup exit to Eastbourne United with a 3-1 win at Crawley Down Gatwick, Jack Troak scoring twice, in a week that also saw head coach James Westlake mark 200 games in charge.
In Division One, Lingfield won 2-1 before following up with a 4-0 victory over Hurstpierpoint III, and Forest Row made it three wins in a row at Jubilee Field, with goals from Pindi and Lawson Joyce among others in a 4-1 win. Wick's reserves lost 2-1 to Iron Acton A in a separate fixture during the week.
