Alfreton Town have said they are looking for a capable buyer to take the helm of the club, with the aim that new ownership inherits it debt-free.
In a statement to supporters, the club said a private communication setting out some potential high-level terms had been made public this week without its permission. It did not give details of those terms. "We are working tirelessly to set the club up for future success," the statement said, "and that includes setting up new ownership to succeed."
The club confirmed that North Street (Solana Stadium) will remain Alfreton Town's home, and said the site is restricted to sport and recreation use.
On the football side, the club said it is business as usual on the training ground and the pitch. Jake, the players and staff remain focused on their fixtures, and the club thanked them and supporters for their continued backing.
Anyone serious about taking the club forward, with the resources to do so, has been asked to contact the club directly at enquiries@alfretontownfc.com. Alfreton Town said they will not comment further until there is news to share.
